on our recent visit to norton park…totally frustrating
on our recent visit to norton park hotel and spa on 7.7.22 we found the hotel very dusty especially our bedroom, also there was a mattress pushed under one of the beds which was very grubby and had holes in it. the meals were taking 2 to 2 5 hours from starter to coffee, also bar service was a shambles. in total very very disappointed.

Disappointed with our 2 night Birthday stay
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at Norton Park which included 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners for a little Birthday treat but, unfortunately, we were hugely disappointed. This was the 4th time we'd visited (as we'd been quite happy with the previous visits) but this time things had gone very much downhill across several of the areas. On arrival the lady on reception was friendly and welcoming but we were rather shocked by the poor level of cleanliness of our room and bathroom in particular. In the bedside drawers there were various remnants from previous guests which should have been hoovered out and given a wipe over. In the bathroom, the lower area of the glass shower surround had dried-on water streaks, which only needed a gentle wipe over as I was able to remove it with a damp finger. Then the tiling by the sink had some very dirty looking dried splashes that had not been cleaned off. Photos of this are attached here.
What we were most shocked about was the fact that on the morning of the 2nd day, we'd been having breakfast and on returning to our room, we found our door propped open on the latch and absolutely no-one around! We saw a trolley in the corridor and untidy items heaped on the floor but no sign of anyone around. We went to reception to enquire and complain about this which took a good 5-10 minutes and returned to our room.....and still the door was propped open and no one around....with all our personal items in the room!
Prior to visiting the hotel, I'd looked at the restaurant menu and saw a couple of dishes that appealed to me but once in the restaurant for dinner, we were handed a totally different menu! I mentioned the fact that the options I wanted weren’t on the menu and waiter said that ‘this had been mentioned to the managers many times’ but nothing had been done about it! Also the fish and chips were served with a very paltry portion of mushy peas and very poor quality, overcooked chips.
The pool and steam room was very nice but there seemed to be not enough staffing in most areas. On our checkout we were offered a small discount but the whole experience resulted in us sadly not intending to stay again.
The Hampshire Court Hotel and spa
The Hampshire Court Hotel and spa, very tired hotel, not at all a spa experience. Breakfast was below standard based on other Qs we have stayed in, poor presentation and clearly cooked and displayed with poor care and attention. In particular the Leisure and Spa Manager AARON BENNETT is rude and offensive and talks about the clients unprofessionally to his staff as if he is holding court, clearly not a competent and trained manager but one that feels he needs to elevate his status by disrespecting clients.

Spa 1* Hotel 5*
I will happily give them 4* for their Chesford Grange Hotel. Clean comfortable rooms, cheerful, very helpful staff and good food.
However, the Spa does not merit more than 1*. It is a rip-off. Way back in the middle of March 2022 I tried to book online but could not, so I did it over the phone. I was quoted £49 for a manicure and £49 for a pedicure. I could not pay at the time of booking because they were not set up for taking telephone payments. This is an excellent move on their part because when I arrived for my appointments on 6 May I was charged the new price of £75 for each. On complaining the reply was, "It is your responsibility to check the website for charges". It was also crafty of them not to send me a confirmatory email, so I do not have any proof of what I was quoted, but a check of their charges at the time would confirm it. A decent less grasping company would happily honour the price quoted. It is not the customer's fault they are inefficient with their payments methods.
Three days after I posted this a reply on another site said they would bring the pricing matter to the attention of the relevant departmnt. No mention of a refund.

Stratford Manor
Stayed two nights at the this hotel, upon arrival was impressed with the outside looked classy, was greeted with a warm welcome by friendly engaging staff
Room was clean and comfortable and better than expected used the restaurant for both breakfast and evening meal as part of the spa package we booked food was very nice well presented and very enjoyable, great set menu selection and a wide choice at breakfast
Spa facilities were good, treatments were mixed first was great 50 minutes back massage second a all over scrub 25 minutes was rushed and felt incomplete
Although a power cut knocked out the hot water for a period this did not spoil our stay
A special shout out to Ibs, Choloe & Tataistua (Resturant) Sean (Bar) there approach to customer service was brilliant and defiantly enhanced our stay…

The Park Royal Hotel, Stretton, Cheshire.
The Park Royal, stretton, Cheshire.
I wish I had read these reviews before booking for three nights here. First room didn’t have a fridge so asked for an upgrade but the second room had bottom indentations on the bed where people had been sitting on it so went back to the first room (152).
I ordered room service as the restaurant was busy. It arrived completely cold, burger and chips. The sticky toffee pudding had a hard side to it and the jug of milk had been spilt all over the tray. I emailed and also asked about where I go for breakfast and what time. Four emails later, still no email about the time. It took five calls to reception to be answered.
Tried to sleep that night. The mattress had at least three springs sticking up in the middle of the bed. It was incredibly uncomfortable and impossible to sleep on. I emailed the hotel and NO response. I emailed the following day again and still ignored. If I wasn’t so exhausted I would have packed up and gone somewhere else. Three nights with barely five hours sleep and my thigh has a huge bruises area from the mattress. Utterly appalling!!!!
Every time I tried to get through to reception it would take at least five attempts or more
The bathroom had framework that needed painting and the grout on the tiles needed cleaning properly.
For most of the night doors are constantly slamming as they are weighted fire doors and someone knocked on my bedroom door at 11.55pm and again at 12.20am.
This is meant to be a four star hotel but I would give it one at most.
I emailed since checking out today and asked for the managers name and email address and NO response.

Atrocious
We booked for 2 nights at the Norton Park Hotel. EV charge point was broken, part of the reason to stay there, so didn’t get off to a good start. Check in process was slow, only 1 person at the desk when there was space for 3. Slow. Booked a ground floor garden room so the dog could have access to the grounds. We were put into a second floor room, from which we could see the back of the restaurant (which was closed for refurbishment). If you stretched out of the window a bit you could see gravel, but no garden. Room was incredibly small, dirty stained duvet cover, skid marked bath towel for one, nothing for two people. Abandoned sheet trolley left outside the room. The corridors smelt of wee. Decided to leave after less than an hour, and the only reason it’s gets one star is that I got a full refund.
DON’T BELIEVE THE WEBSITE, it could be a completely different hotel. Dunston Hall was similarly disappointing
Beware of Slaley Hall
Beware of Slaley Hall, Hexham. In January, my wife booked spa treatments to celebrate her 75th birthday in February with our 2 daughters. The telephone agent took the card details and confirmed the booking for the following month. Two days before the spa day, as she had received no confirmation, my wife checked the booking to discover that their group of 3 was now separated into different individual times in that day. Apparently this is completely impossible to change. Spa days are the core of their business . How can they get it so comprehensively wrong? If it was OK in January, just what had Slaley done to ruin their £250 February spa day remains a complete mystery

Qhotels Very poor management
Ashford international hotel is extortionate rubbish leaking taps in bathroom, mould around window in room and lightbulbs not working, VERY OVERPRICED Restaurant 4 tiny meatballs with pork scratchings from a packet not as described for £6 starter, powdered mash potatoes and rock hard peas, 2 drinks from the bar £16 absolutely ludicrous
We put the tag on room door for it to be cleaned when we went out came back NOTHING had been done although when we left the in house team were cleaning all the rooms, this place needs a management shake up and I mean the management at qhotels not at the ashford international as they are just following orders from the dullards in the offices at qhotels headquarters……..!!

Do not join crewe hall spa…
Previously a member before COVID and just purchased a three month pass for £150. The first time I took the children swimming he water was warm and staff very nice at crewe hall. Three weeks ago water was very cold I was told that the boiler has broken. Missed a week then the next time I went water still cold and my grandson got shouted at by Charlotte the manager for running a few steps on the poolside. He was humiliated not the approach a manager should have I asked why the water was cold she told me she backwashed three times a week and filled with cold water. This Sunday took the two children swimming and again very cold. The pool was empty my grand daughter sat for two minutes in the jacuzzi to get warm on our way out, pool was empty at this point my eight year old grandson put his foot in jacuzzi and splashed her to get out. Within seconds Charlotte was on the poolside before I’d even walked to the door again shouting at him. I only attend once a week to take the children for a swim and she has ruined the experience they do not want to go anymore. Pay six pounds for the each time we attend. My three month membership finishes on 3 jan I asked for a refund which she told me I would not get. Do not join as the standards have dropped and the manager Charlotte has a poor attitude attendances will be dropping at crewe hall spa. Mrs j noble

Stratford Manor, Stratford on Avon September 2021. Awful.
Arrived at Stratford manor, gardens all very overgrown and hotel entrance and foyer not what we were expecting at a four star, quite expensive hotel.
Room ok but light bulb missing and remained missing for three days besides notification. Only one glass in the room, had to request another one. Swimming pool not up to cleanliness standards we are used to and showers were too hot to use! Cold taps not working in both female and male changing rooms. I suggested they must close the changing rooms on health and safety grounds. A child could get scalded!
Dinner very poor. Worst ‘fresh’ salmon I’v ever had.
Breakfast on the first morning must have been set out under warming lights for an hour or two before we ate at 8-15am!
We ate out in Stratford that evening!
Breakfast on the second day better. Returned after a day out to an uncleaned room! No change of towels! No tea bags, coffee or milk. Had to complain to get these things. Also had to request a toilet role!
Terrace at rear of hotel very uneven in places and grass growing through every joint!
Hotel not clean!
Staff were polite and pleasant but too few of them.
Stratford Manor 5th to 7th September 2021!
Never again shall we use a Q hotel!

What a joke of a hotel - 4 stars? I think not
We stayed at the Slaley Hall for 3 days last week - we wished we hadn't. The service for a 4 star hotel was appalling. No one to help with luggage on arrival, no possibility of a newspaper, no room service, the room was only cleaned once in a 3 day stay, better breakfast in a travel lodge - (greasy eggs, undercooked bacon!). No one on reception for much of there time, and the phone to reception never answered. Restaurant not able to cater for all the residents, so forced to eat in a noisy sports bar. - is this what you would expect for nearly £500 per night - I think not. Saw 4 women walking around the hotel with toilet rolls as they had run out and no one had replaced them - what a joke.

Wish I had come on here before booking
Wish I had come on here before booking. Staying at the Oulton Hall hotel Leeds for the weekend.
One word…. Shambolic! Don’t go until they have re assessed their cleaning and staffing issues. Rooms are unclean and taps in bathrooms don’t work. Food appalling. Spiders and cobwebs you name it. Q hotels need to wake up or they will go down the pan …a dirty one at that.
